Requirements:
* Must be at least 15 years of age.
* Pass a pre-course skills test:
- Swim 300 yards without stopping; while demonstrating both Freestyle and Breaststroke.

- Swim 25 yards and submerge to a depth of 7-10 feet using a feet first surface dive. Retrieve a 10 lb diving brick and return to the surface, then swim with the brick back to the starting point.

*Must attend all three days of the course, and pass all exams to be eligible for certification.
